The Barber of Seville - Rossini
The Barber of Seville, by Gioachino Rossini, is a comedy. Its story tells of the mischievous escapades of Figaro, the barber, as he helps Count Almaviva to prise the beautiful Rosina from the clutches of her lecherous guardian, Dr Bartolo. Both will be sung in English.
This fantastic production by Bronek Pomorski brings out the Champagne Fizz of the music and will capture your heart as Count Almaviva aided by his good friend Figaro manages to woo his love Rosina away from her wicked guardian Dr Bartolo. Thousands of people saw this work when it toured the country last year and many have asked to see it again.
Doors open at 6.00pm with the show beginning at 7.30pm. We recommend that you bring a chair or picnic blanket to sit on. You can order an operatic picnic here or bring your own refreshments. You can buy Prosecco, wine, ale, soft drinks and snacks and Brickells Ice Cream on the night.
